Southern Miniature Horse Confederation
Club History

       The first meeting of the
"Southern Miniature Horse Confederation"
was held on February 15, 1992.  This meeting consisted of a small
group of miniature horse enthusiasts and breeders gathered together
to share with each other their knowledge about miniature horses.

This was the beginning of what is now a much larger group of miniature
horse enthusiasts with owners and breeders from Alabama, Louisiana,
Mississippi, and Tennessee.  The members gather together once each
quarter to share information and knowledge.  The club has now grown
large enough to schedule miniature horse auctions, fun shows and
       AMHA and AMHR sanctioned shows.

Quarterly meetings are held at club members farms, when possible. This
makes the meetings more informal and gives members the opportunity to
visit and see first hand how other farms operate.  The host of each

meeting plans a topic of discussion and may even provide a guest
speaker, such as a farrier, a veteranian or other horse knowledgeable
person.  Topics often vary from buying and selling, to breeding and
foaling, finance and taxes, clipping and grooming, feed and nutrition,
conditioning and training, health, and preparing your horse for a show.

The Southern Miniature Horse Confederation continually strives to
provide club members with information and knowledge that will help
them have the ability to breed and produce the very best miniature
       horses possible for today's industry.

We invite you to join in the fun with us and become a member of the
                            Southern Miniature Horse Confederation.
